Supporting our local community and creating opportunities

In December 2022 we presented our current charity partner - The Daylight Centre in Wellingborough - with a cheque for £750. Carina Fisher, Chief Executive of Daylight Centre Fellowship (pictured second left) said: "It has been a tremendously challenging year on so many different levels and your support is so appreciated. Let's hope 2023 improves for everyone."

Since 2017, staff at Maziak have been actively involved in raising money for selected charity partners as voted by our staff, with our collective efforts raising almost £22,000 for various charities. We work alongside these charities, supporting their existing programmes and offering our own fundraising opportunities, to support our local community and create fun opportunities that produce worthwhile results.

Here's who we have supported since 2017

  • The Daylight Centre (2022/2023) was established in 1994, registered in 2003 and ever since we have assisted disadvantaged and vulnerable adults particularly rough sleepers, vulnerably housed, those in poverty and those who are socially isolated. As such, we are at the very forefront of social action within Wellingborough and the surrounding areas
  • Air Ambulance (2019/2021) which does not receive funding from the government or National Lottery for its daily missions and relies entirely on voluntary donations and support from our communities and business. The Air Ambulance Service flies across the counties of Warwickshire & Northamptonshire, and Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland, covering 3,850 square miles.
  • Johnny’s Happy Place (2019) which works to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health.  There are many people out there who, for one reason or another, through circumstance, are having a tough time. They might have anxiety issues, depression or just feel isolated. What JHP have done, with the help of some wonderful people, is create a beautiful community space/cafe within Keystone's building in the heart of Kettering.
  • Lakelands Hospice (2017/2018) is an independent charity committed to delivering the best possible care, practice and development of specialist palliative support for people with cancer, heart failure and other life limiting illnesses.
