Leading from the Front - the new HPC SK Series


The existing highest efficiency air compressor electric motor classification, EFF1, is replaced with the name IE2. IE3 is now a higher efficiency class altogether and HPC Kaeser have again shown the way as market leaders by ensuring their full range of screw compressors has IE3 motors fitted, now. By 2015 all new air compressors will need to be supplied with an IE3 motor or if an IE2 is to be used it must be inverter controlled. These are mandatory regulations for compressor manufacturers.

  • 16.06.2011: Min. IE2 efficiency for asynchronous motors rated 0.75 kW – 375 kW
  • 01.01.2015: Min. IE3 efficiency for motors rated 7.5 kW – 375 kW, or a combination of frequency convertor and IE2 motor
  • 01.01.2017: Min. IE3 efficiency for motors rated 0.75 kW – 375 kW, or a combination of frequency convertor and IE2 motor
